Jayk

I've never had a sibling serve a mission.  I am the oldest child in my family so having a loved one serve a mission is a bitter sweet feeling I have never experienced.  However, my cousin Jayk is currently serving a mission in Brazil, and he is like a brother to me.  The Cherry's are currently at my house, and they called him today because it's Christmas. For those of you who don't know, Christmas is one of the two times a missionary can call home and talk to his family.  I got to talk to him briefly, and it was wonderful to hear his voice.  When the phone call wrapped up he shared a spiritual missionary experience, and I felt the spirit and understood the blessing that it is to have a family member serve a mission.  This is a blessing I never recognized before because I have not served a mission and neither have my sisters, but I could feel it today  I am proud of Jayk, and thankful for the spirit he brought to our home this Christmas, and I cannot wait to see him in May.
